Design and Implementation of Control Systems using MATLAB and Simulink

Design and Implementation of Control Systems using MATLAB and Simulink

24 Nov 2011
10.00-15.00
Novotel Hyderabad Airport, HYDERABAD

Control system design challenges engineers to efficiently integrate electrical, mechanical, and embedded control systems. Traditional development approaches often result in engineers of different disciplines working in environments lacking any commonality to requirements, design methodology, testing, and validation. With this traditional approach, errors are often found late in the development process, leading to more number of design iterations that jeopardize the successful completion of the project on time and in budget.

Join this full day seminar to understand how Model-Based Design, a development method embraced by various industries such as Aerospace, Automotive and Industrial Automation, can address many of the issues associated with traditional development processes. Using a case study of a robot arm with permanent magnet synchronous motor; MathWorks engineers will demonstrate how you can:

  • Create executable specifications of the design to help improve communication of requirements between engineering disciplines
  • Use a system-level model to perform design cycles with simulation and drastically reduce the need for real prototypes
  • Implement control algorithms through automatic code generation, eliminating potential errors from hand coding
  • Prove the absence of run-time errors in mixed, generated and handwritten code

Who Should Attend

Engineers, scientists and project managers from industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial Robotics & Manufacturing, Process Automation & Controls, Power Generation Equipment, Power Conversion & Control Equipment and Renewable Energy, involved in:

  • Designing, Modeling & Simulation of Multi-Domain System
  • Embedded Control System Design
  • System Integration
  • Verification and Validation
  • Project Management

Introduction to Simulink for Control Design

Dear Sir/ Madam,

MathWorks India invites you to a complimentary webinar:

Introduction to Simulink for Control Design

25 Nov 2011
3:00 PM IST (India Standard Time)

In this webinar, you will learn how to use Simulink® for control design. The webinar will
introduce key features in Simulink and the Simulink product family that let you create plant
models and build sophisticated controllers in an integrated workflow. Through product
demonstrations, attendees will see a high-level overview of the major capabilities and
how to design, simulate, implement, and test control systems within the Simulink
environment.

This webinar will highlight the following capabilities:
• Plant modeling
• Automatic tuning of PID controllers
• Linearization of Simulink models
• Graphical interactive design of control systems in Simulink
• Gain-scheduling of controllers
• Optimization of control system performance to meet time and frequency-domain requirements
• Design and testing of supervisory logic
• Controller implementation and real-time testing

This webinar is for people unfamiliar with using Simulink for control design.

A Q&A session will follow the presentation and demos.

Presenter: Arkadiy Turevskiy - Simulink Product Marketing Manager, MathWorks Inc.
Q&A Session: Vijayalayan R - Senior Team Lead, Control Design Application Engineering, MathWorks India
